There is slippery ice; extra care and consideration is needed. Travelling and moving forward is difficult; the conditions are unsteady. The terrain ahead demands resilience and adaptability as the path forward remains uncertain.

Ice Follies 2025 Opening Night:

Shabogesic Beach (Memorial Drive, North Bay)

Kick off Ice Follies 2025 with our Opening Night Reception on February 7th at Shabogesic Beach. Enjoy free refreshments to warm you up before experiencing a dynamic performance at 7:00 PM by Aanmitaagzi, a renowned community-based Indigenous performing group celebrated for their captivating and culturally rich presentations.

An ASL interpreter will be available to ensure accessibility for all.

Tours Offered Throughout the Festival:

Join us for a guided walking tour led by Artist, Colin Davis, offering unique insights and in-depth information about each artwork. Day and night tours feature slightly different experiences. Tickets are $10 per person, with a free tour on Family Day.

Live Events on Trout Lake

Experience immersive audio-visual performances at Trout Lake’s Olmstead Beach. These special events provide opportunities to engage with art through captivating soundscapes and stunning light installations.

7:00 PM – NAISA Listening Party
Immerse yourself in New Adventure in Sound Arts (NAISA) captivating audio installation amidst the festival grounds! Drop in, grab a seat by the bonfire, and enjoy an evening of contemplative soundscapes. Perfect for a cozy, reflective moment under the stars.

8:00 PM – Ice Shift/Elevations Performance by Hyperboreal
Witness Ice Shift/Elevations, an hour-long performance blending electronic soundscapes, video projections, and interactive elements on the ice.

Ice Follies Community Choir

Family Day, February 17, 2025 at 2pm

Back by popular demand, on Family Day we will be hosting a free-to-participate community choir amidst the artworks, facilitated by our friends, Lindsay Sullivan and Rose Erin Stokes. All are invited to join and sing along or listen!

Aanmitaagzi Drumming and Dancing

Aanmitaagzi will be on-site during Family Day, activating their area with drumming and dancing! All are invited to come out and participate.

WKP Kennedy Gallery (150 Main St E, North Bay)

Presented in partnership with the WKP Kennedy Gallery, this exhibit celebrates two decades of art on ice, showcasing one stunning photograph for every participating artist since the festival’s inception in 2004. Liz Lott’s breathtaking images highlight the innovative installations and performances that have transformed Lake Nipissing into a vibrant canvas of creativity.

WKP Kennedy Gallery

An important part of your Capitol Centre, the WKP Kennedy Public Art Gallery presents the finest in historical and contemporary Northern, Canadian and International visual artists.
